BRITISH INSURTECH
Steve has been designing telecommunications infrastructure for the past 34 years, 32 of that in the wireless telecommunications industry. At TELOS Technologies Steve was responsible for the architecture of the Sonata Mobile Switching Center. This innovative MSC supported GSM and CDMA standards and was the first commercially deployed all-IP MSC that fully separated the control and media planes. It was successfully deployed with over 100 network operators in more than 25 different countries on all six inhabited continents. The TELOS deployment in the Tonga Islands won the 2003 3G GSM award for Best Infrastructure or Network Solution Product. When TELOS Technologies was purchased by UTStarcom in 2004, Steve assumed design responsibility for the MovingMedia 2000 product. This product was successfully deployed to Reliance InfoComm in India to support over 3000 remote villages. Steve founded Aegis Mobility in 2006 with the goal of bringing Contextual Services to the entire mobile-subscriber base, the first such service being a network-hosted solution to Distracted Driving. In 2015 Steve founded Cogosense Technology Inc. Cogosense developed handset based algorithms and heuristics based on MEMs and GPS sensor data to monitor driving behavior. This technology is now the basis for the Innovative British Insurtech insurance on-demand products. Steve obtained his BSc (with honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Loughborough University in the UK. He is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is registered as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, UK.
